Summary

All the intervals mentioned below are applicable under normal operating conditions. When the equipment is operating in harsh environments, these intervals should be shortened, and final plans must always be formulated based on the actual operating conditions of the equipment. Maintenance and repair work must be carried out by trained, qualified personnel who are familiar with this manual and relevant safety regulations.

Every lubrication point of the blow moulding line, with the required medium, interval and application method.

  • Daily inspection

The five mechanical checks that must be carried out before start-up and after shutdown.

  • Maintenance schedule

69 cleaning, lubrication, inspection and fastening tasks classified by day, week and month.

Equipment Lubrication

Lubrication is the first line of defence of a blow moulding machine. The tables below list every lubrication point of the XC8 series machine with the required medium, the application method and the interval. 32 points in total, grouped by sub-assembly.

General rules for lubrication

  • During the first 1-2 months of operation, check whether the quality of the oil in the reducer has changed. If it has, find and eliminate the cause first, then replace the oil.
  • The oils and greases listed below are standard products for the specified environment and conditions. In a special environment, consult a professional lubrication supplier or a King Machine technician.
  • Do not mix two different lubricants unless it is approved by a King Machine technician or by the lubricant manufacturer.
  • Remove dirt before lubricating; wipe off any excess oil or grease afterwards and spread the grease evenly.

Daily Inspection & Cleaning

Five mechanical checks to be carried out every day. Work on the machine only when it is stopped and locked out; keep the records of every measured value so that wear trends can be followed over time.

2.1 Mold opening / closing swing arm position

  1. Raise (mount) the guide rail of the swing-arm positioning device, inch the machine until the swing-arm bearing reaches the arc section of the rail. The bearing must pass tangentially along the rail. If it deviates, loosen the screws of the swing-arm expansion sleeve so the bearing runs tangent to the positioning rail, then tighten the locking screws diagonally.
  2. If mold closing is abnormally unsmooth during operation, keep an appropriate clearance between the rail and the bearing, measure it with a feeler gauge and keep a record of the value.

2.2 Mold equal height

  1. Inch the machine and check the equal height of the mold neck plate with a dial indicator - it must be adjusted within 0.1 mm.
  2. If the deviation is serious, loosen the set screws (three in total) on the adjusting nut at the lower end of the mold frame spindle, then turn the adjusting sleeve on the upper end of the nut with a wrench: clockwise lowers the mold frame, counter-clockwise raises it.

2.3 Bottom mold bearing equal height

  1. In the mold-locked state, press the bottom mold to its lowest position and set the clearance between the limit screw and the mold frame to 0.1 mm, so the bottom mold keeps the correct height in the mold slot.
  2. Check the equal height of the bottom mold bearings. If there is a deviation, add or remove adjusting shims between the bottom mold and the support frame.

2.4 Bottom mold rail and bearing clearance

  1. Inch the machine until the bottom mold bearing reaches about 20-250 mm along the bottom mold rail, then adjust the rail so the clearance between rail and bearing is 0.05-0.1 mm.
  2. At the outlet at the end of the rail, the bearing-to-rail clearance must be no less than 0.2 mm.
  3. The bottom mold rail has two fixing seats - adjust the rail height with the screws and set screws on the rail seats.

2.5 Sealing head to mold top plane clearance

  1. When the bearing moves to the topmost plane of the rail, check with a caliper that the clearance between the sealing head and the mold top plane is 24-25 mm.
  2. If it deviates, adjust the screws that fix the mechanical sealing rail.
